No. Onwatch is designed to work with the CCTV you already operate. We assess stream compatibility during onboarding and tell you honestly if a camera cannot be used.

Bandwidth depends on camera count, resolution and whether analysis runs at the edge or in the cloud. Most mid-market sites operate comfortably on existing site connectivity; we size this with you before go-live and can prioritise event clips over continuous uplink.

Customer data is hosted in ISO 27001 certified data centres with UK/EU residency options. Encryption is AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit. Retention follows your policy - we do not keep footage longer than you configure.

Not by default. We do not train Onwatch models on your CCTV unless you explicitly opt in under a separate written agreement. Raw video is analysed on Onwatch Node on your site. Detection and SETH run on Onwatch systems - we do not send your data to third-party AI providers.

No new cameras. Detection runs on Onwatch Node - a palm-sized device on your network that connects to the CCTV you already have over RTSP. You provide a little shelf space, power, a network port and RTSP access. Plug in, connect, go. All video analysis happens on Node inside your building.

Because the Onwatch stack is built for edge efficiency from the ground up. Our models and pipeline are optimised so continuous detection fits in your palm. That is Onwatch Node: serious computer vision without a cupboard full of hardware.

Every detection can be reviewed with the clip it came from - check our work. Sites tune thresholds and zones during commissioning. We prefer fewer, trustworthy alerts over noisy dashboards your teams ignore.

In Great Britain in 2024/25, slips and trips (30%), handling and lifting (17%), struck by a moving object (10%) and falls from height (8%) together made up 65% of RIDDOR-reported non-fatal injuries - all physically visible events. Yes. HSE itself estimates that around half of RIDDOR-reportable non-fatal injuries to employees are never reported. That is why continuous detection on existing CCTV matters - walkarounds and voluntary reporting miss hours and corners. Source: HSE published notes on employer under-reporting.

We will not publish an invented reduction percentage. Deploying detection often increases recorded incidents in the early months because you start seeing events that previously went unrecorded - that is visibility, not failure. We set expectations against leading indicators and lagging outcomes over 9-12 months, with baselines captured before go-live. When we have signed client outcomes, we will publish them specifically and checkably.

HSE puts the average cost of a workplace injury at around £10,000 per case (Costs to Britain, 2023/24). The annual bill to British employers for injury and new ill health is £4.3 billion. We cannot tell you what you will save; we can tell you what an unseen hazard costs on HSE’s own numbers.

In 2024/25, 511,000 workers were suffering a work-related MSD, with 7.1 million working days lost - around 14 days per affected worker. Handling, lifting and carrying accounts for 17% of RIDDOR-reported injuries. MSDs are classified by HSE as work-related ill health, not as “reported injuries” in the RIDDOR sense. Onwatch is deployed under your lawful basis and site policies as the data controller. We support privacy-aware configurations (zones, retention, access control) and expect clear workforce communication. We can provide a briefing pack outline for unions and employee forums.

A typical pilot site connects existing cameras to Onwatch Node and configures first detections in days, not months - no camera rip-and-replace, no project-feel rollout. Full multi-site estates depend on IT access and change management, which we plan with you on the first call.

Detection is the start; Onwatch also drives risk assessments, SETH policy answers, toolbox talks, Bowtie analysis, Efficiency (where enabled) and audible alerts.

A per-site module that sits beside HSE, not inside it. Named machines, stations and buffers drawn on your existing cameras are measured continuously; the system raises explained ops alerts when work is blocked, starved, idle or under capacity. It is camera-based operational visibility - not a full MES or OEE replacement. Zones need efficiency detections on, and Machine Setup defines what “good” looks like for your floor.

Yes. Alongside dashboard, SMS and email, you can play a siren-style tone or spoken phrase for any detection you configure. The point is reaching people in the moment on the floor, not only when they next check a screen. Audio uses the same detection pipeline; it is another delivery channel, not a separate monitoring stack.

Yes. Our information security management system is ISO 27001 certified (UKAS-accredited certification body). We also align with ISO 42001 for AI management and have BSI-qualified Lead Implementers on the team.

Workplace computer vision sits in a live regulatory conversation. We design for transparency, human oversight and data minimisation, and we can walk procurement and DPO stakeholders through our ISO 42001-aligned controls on a security call.

Our hosted platform targets a 99.99% uptime SLA with geographic redundancy on ISO 27001 certified infrastructure. Site-side camera availability remains your responsibility.

Yes. Role-based access control and MFA are standard. Client-authorised personnel control access to unencrypted operational data; Onwatch staff are not permitted to browse customer footage as a matter of course.

No. It watches the hours your team cannot be everywhere - night shifts, quiet docks, corners nobody walks past - and turns what it sees into assessments, coaching and actions your people use. Walkarounds and professional judgement still matter.

Treat enhancement as an assistive clarity tool, not a replacement for the original recording. Enhanced imagery must not be presented as evidentially equivalent to the source footage in HSE investigations or legal proceedings. We are explicit about what the tool does and does not do - ask us on a product or security call.
